What qualifications and registration do I need to teach in Victoria?

All teachers wishing to teach in Victoria need to be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching which is the professional body that sets the professional standards for teachers in Victoria. At the VIT website registration information is available for teacher graduates trained in Australia and experienced teachers trained in Australia and teachers trained overseas.

French Teacher (Maddingley Campus)

Position

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join the team at our Maddingley Campus. This is a full time, ongoing role.  The successful applicant will teach classes across Years 5-10, with the possibility to teach VCE classes for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  •        Plan and deliver high quality language lessons aligned with curriculum standards;
  •        Teach French to students at various levels;
  •        Assess, monitor and report on student progress;
  •        Encourage student’s interest in language and culture

Key Selection Criteria

Applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Appropriate teaching qualifications, with an ability to become registered in Victoria as a Teacher; 
  • Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or Australian interstate equivalent;
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a French teacher.
  • First aid certificate.
  • Valid driver's licence.

Job position – Teacher of French (Years 4 to 8)

The Geelong College is seeking a well-qualified and passionate educator to join our Middle School Campus as a Teacher of French (Years 4 to 8).
